Protector
Vinghøg has enjoyed impressive growth over the past 10 years, due largely to the development and success of new products like the Advanced Multi Role Weapon Station (AMRWS).
This development programme has expanded rapidly with Vinghøg designing a number of new spin-off products in the electro-optical field such as CCD Cameras, Range Finders and Fire Control Systems,. This success has encouraged us to increase the capacity of R&D, staffed by highly skilled personnel, dedicated to the developement and production of new innovative electro-optical products.
The AMRWS was developed by Vinghøg, industrialized and further modified by Kongsberg Protech to become the Protector, Remote Weapon Station (RWS). The Protector, RWS design is today owned by Kongsberg Protech. Vinghøg is still a major sub-contractor. The Protector is now in high volume production for the US Army BCT programme and per January 2003, Kongsberg Protech has delivered more than 300 units for this programme.
